I love the look of a long sleeved, heavier top over shorter shorts, but there’s a reason it’s an unexpected look. It seems impractical so I was hesitant wearing this sweater, but I wore it to dinner outside, and it got chilly in the evening. Probably the perfect weather for this outfit – hot enough for shorts, but cool enough in the evening for a sweater.
I’ve obviously been trying to balance the more dressed up looks I’ve been wearing throughout the summer, by a barrage of shorts. But there was something about this simple outfit that made me feel really confident and pretty – and that’s what’s important in an outfit.
I was out of posing ideas, so I guess I decided looking away from the camera would be a good idea.
Second (not) good idea: Having the pictures taken at an upward angle.

Sweater: Old Navy.
Shorts: Kohls.
Shoes: Marshalls.
Necklace: A secondhand shop.
Earrings: My sister’s.
